Dr Veronica Moretti is Associate Professor of Sociology of Culture and Communication at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on the relationships between health, media, and visual culture, with particular attention to illness narratives, patient experience, and the social and cultural meanings of the body. Working across interdisciplinary contexts that connect social science, healthcare, and the arts, she contributes to international scholarship in graphic medicine and to projects that explore how storytelling and visual representation can deepen understanding of care, identity, and lived experience. Her work brings sociological insight to contemporary debates on health communication, participation, and the role of culture in shaping experiences of illness and wellbeing.

She is an author of Pancreas. Biografia a fumetti di un organo.
