GRAPHIC RECORDING
Graphic Recording takes techniques form comics, in particular the use of text, image and spatial relations to construct a live record of an event such as a meeting, workshop, or conference. As the name suggests, graphic recording also enables the creation of an archive of material that can be revisited and shared at a later date. It is a significant aid to memory and comprehension, given the ability to retain visual information is much greater than spoken or written information. It also provides novel, exciting and fun way for groups to develop connections and trace the relationships being built in a live event. It often takes place using whiteboards, flipchart pads or digital tablets with projectors. Graphic recording uses a range of skills related to listening, translating and transcribing that embellish discussions and activities making them more memorable and interactive. The method is analytic, in that it helps to break things down, but also synthetic in its ability to draw out relationships, affinities and associations.
